About

My Journey
Root & Moss was born from a time when I felt completely disconnected from myself. I had reached a place where I felt lost, unable to switch off, and struggling to care for myself in the way I needed. My nervous system was dysregulated in a way I could not yet name - I just knew I was tired, tense, and far from home in my own body.
What began as just five minutes a day became the starting point. A slowed-down cleansing routine, gentle facial massage and Gua Sha created a small, private space where I could begin to slow down and feel safe again. At first it was not about skincare at all. It was about showing up for myself in the smallest possible way, and discovering that those quiet moments held more healing than I expected.
My skin began to improve, but more importantly, my sense of self and confidence began to return. With a background in holistic massage, I started to understand how the body holds stress, and how it can begin to soften through touch, stillness and care. That understanding deepened as I trained in facial massage, Gua Sha, myofascial release, Manual Lymphatic Drainage and ScarWork™.
Where It Led
Bodywork came into my path after the facial rituals, and it changed everything. I learned that the most profound results rarely come from force. They come from meeting the body exactly where it is, working with the nervous system rather than against it, and trusting light, intentional touch to do what deep pressure cannot. I have felt this in my own body, and I have seen it in the clients who come through my door.
Root & Moss is growing, but the centre has never moved. Every treatment is still an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and come back to yourself - through the skin, through the breath, through the body, and through care that never rushes or forces.
People book people, not just treatments. I'm Emma, and I'd love to welcome you.

The body holds stress quietly, and often the skin reflects it before we fully realise it ourselves.
Intentional touch, stillness and nervous system support can create space for both the skin and the body to soften.
I will never force a body into change. Lasting results come from meeting the body where it is, and working with it gently.
Presence matters more than pressure. Light touch - through myofascial release, Manual Lymphatic Drainage and ScarWork™ - can reach deeper than we assume.
Skincare is not just about appearance. It can become a way of reconnecting with yourself, slowing down and feeling safe in your body again.
The most lasting results come from consistency, care and treatments that work with the body rather than against it.
